Site Reliability Engineer (m/f/x)

Your mission
As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) you ensure the seamless operation of our user-facing services and production systems. A SRE will start our SRE journey and become the guardian of our digital infrastructure, proactively preventing incidents, enhancing system resilience, and driving initiatives to streamline operations. Your expertise in establishing and maintaining Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Objectives (SLOs) will provide invaluable insights into our system's health and performance, ultimately ensuring uninterrupted services for our users and positioning Rencore Software for sustained success in the competitive landscape.
Your profile
Key Responsibilities 
 
1. Emergency Response and Incident Management: Proactively prevent incidents and enhance system resilience both by preemptive actions. Responding to incidents and alerts from our systems and seeing them through to a conclusion.

2. Monitoring and Automation: Develop monitoring solutions that alert on symptoms to prevent outages. Document all actions to facilitate repeatability and automation, leveraging the Rencore Software product to enhance operational efficiency. Contributing to capacity management, load testing, and incident response improvements. Improving observability, measurement and diagnostics.

3. Collaboration and Process Improvement: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, contributing expertise to improve operational processes and product reliability. Sharing and influencing best practices and tooling across engineering teams to improve resiliency and reliability by advising on the design of core infrastructure and products to allow Rencore Software to scale for future growth while still providing the best experience for our existing customers. - Establishing and maintaining SLIs and SLO’s.

Our ideal candidate
 
  • You have been working as an SRE for at least four years and are proficient in infrastructure in establishing SLIs/SLOs. 
  • Strong programming skills in scripting languages such as Powershell.
  • Ability to self-organize, collaborate asynchronously, and communicate effectively.
  • Enthusiasm for documentation, continuous learning, and anything SRE-related. 
  • Proactive attitude towards issue resolution and improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Azure technology such as container instances, web apps, storage accounts.
  • Previous exposure to production databases and operational best practices, especially PostgreSQL. 
  • Proactively addressing system scalability and performance challenges. 
  • Sharing domain knowledge through documentation, demos, technical presentations, and incident reviews. 
  • Proactive in reducing operational toil through automation and observability tooling.
  • Has perfect written and verbal English communication skills, German is a plus.
  • Works from our Munich office or remotely
